Aaron Ross Bike Check!!!!!

8/5/2008

The site has been screwy for the past few days, so I haven’t been able to update you. The latest news is Aaron Ross has a bike check and a mini interview about it over on BMXonline. There’s a ton of photos and you get to see the his actually setup with fluorescent yellow Odyssey Director forks and without the front brakes. Can you guess what trick he was trying to learn with front brakes?

Was the bike with front brakes his race bike? it says on transworld that he has a race bike.

  • Sunday!

Ok Aaron’s frame will be out in the late fall. I don’t have an exact date and to actually give one would be ridiculous. Aaron and Alex Magallan are both riding them and are really stoked on the frame, so I doubt any more prototypes will need to be made. As for the trick you will have to wait and see.

    (spoken in ‘up-market brittish accent)

I shall highly reccomend to the sunday cycles authority (or yourself) To redo this website. If the site is that *shudders* screwy, then you might as well create a new sunday bicycle company website with the same adress as this one. It would be like a version 2 of the site.

    Fin.

lol.i agree.aaron came out with a sig. frame before his profile on here was finished.i also agree to the comment about people still saying his forks are bent.lmao come directors have ben out for how long and they still dont understand they come like that lol.

people should pay a little less atention to if his fork is bent or not and care about his awesome riding skills

  • Anonymous

    how much does it weigh

  • Anonymous

people are saying his forks are bent because they are being ironic in that Odyssey fail to realise that they just wasted a tonne of money developing them when none of their desireable pros run them. chase + aitken dont run them so why the fuck would you want to? Taj only runs them as he is paid to do so and Aaron Ross would shift units for shit as his riding is on another planet. Its like getting ratboy to endorse jump saddles (for all you ingrates who dont know as youve only been riding 3 months, theyre big seats)

  • Chris from Odyssey

We honestly can’t make enough of the Director Forks to meet the demand, and the team riders that aren’t using them are either bound by prior commitments to other sponsors or using front brakes. (And whether you want to believe it or not, Taj is actually a genuine fan of the design).

I can assure you that our “investment” has been well worth it.

    Thanks.

aaron could probably hop flip too such a crazy rider

  • Anonymous

i dont get why all you bastards are bitching about everything (i.e. director forks). nobody care if you like them or not, quit your bitching and if you dont want to ride them then dont, yor not being forced to, but let the people who want to ride them do so.

  • josh

    double whiplash

The director fork is like that because the dropouts are straight down – the odyssey fellows bent them forward because then the wheel would be in the same posiion as a classic fork (for reasons such as that the directors wouldn’t stuff up the origional geometry) Besides if they did not have the “bend” in them, then they would feel like a flatland fork or something similar. I wouldn’t get the directors because i seriously don’t like the change.

And for that guy that ‘Chris from Odyssey’ replied to, THAT’S TWO RIDERS AND ONE OF THEM HAS FRONT BRAKES!! God, there’s like a million other riders on the team that use directors plus other supporters (like the Give D! crew) and many many fans of the directors that like the idea of “the load going straight to the fork leg instead of putting the force onto a flimsy plate that has a weld that tends to brake ‘oh so suddenly’ on riders”

Aaron, Taj, Chase and Aitken aren’t the ONLY ones on the team.

    I rest my case.

    Concerning the Director forks:
For all of you who weren’t around in the 80s to know this, Odyssey always made strange, space alien-looking parts. This fork and their stems are an example of this. They just always make weird stuff.

  • Zach
