WOW!-lookin good, can’t wait till these come out, love to try one with a 22tt and Lumberjack bars – i’d look like a normal adult on an average sized 20!!! instead of the gorilla riding a circus bike i’ve become acustomed to…
script at the bottom of the riding shot says it all, it’s a sign i tells ya!
Seriously though I’m soooo exited about these.Finally. Thank u God(Sunday/Jim)!

  • Anonymous

looks like it would be killer at the trails. whats the weight of one of those things?

  • pdxbmx

    The Silver one weighs 25lbs.

  • Sunday!

the green one only ways a little more due to pegs!
    Jim

these things are off the hook! there the only cruiser that I would buy.i bet odyssey is working on some tires for those rims.

  • Anonymous

    Lookin snazzy!

    Funday info pleassssse!!

  • ian

    why no wave?

Sizes? 21 is too small for me…

    22 option?

75 h/a to further sharpen the handling?

Also how about making the dropouts a bit longer than usual so the stays could be 14.5 slammed (for street/park) or 15.25 all the way out (for trails/vert).

Imagine riding one of these on the Xgames mega ramp…

    …sign me up!

  • Anonymous

Looks fun, have we really got to wait till spring – i’d buy one tommorrow. (put me down for a 22 tho)
No longer will I have to chose between soggy suspension and unresponsive steering or bad back and funny looks!
25lbs? will it be strong enough to take the hard-knocks of street and the(my)trails bails?
    Lifetime Warranty?

  • Anonymous

what width are the bars? would be great to see wide but low bars – another neglected market segment.

  • chris

Been considering a 24 for a while now.
The only thing that concerns me is losing height off my hard-earned bunnyhop.
How does the model c compare to a 20 in this respect?

  • Anonymous

    ribcage 24s anyone….

  • meathead

too short up front & long out back methinks…

  • Dan Meron

    Dear Jim/Sunday,

Really exited about the Model C.
    Please do this.
I'd put money on other companies following suite – set the trend!

Have you considered steepening the seat angle to improve the foot/tyre clearance issue, not sure how much difference it would make but alot of 24 mtbs have like 72 or 73 degree seat angles…

Lovin' the idea of a high bb but must admit i do share the repeatedly voiced concerns over front & rear end lengths.
This seems like such an opportunity to do something really radical and new, would be a shame to not capitalize on that, half measures avail us nothing and all that…

Thanks for giving us potential customers some input.

    Good Luck & best wishes
    Dan Meron

P.S. I ride a 21.5" Mutiny Vape and a 22.5" Blackmarket Mob 4X mtb and therefore would be looking for a toptube between the 2 for my 24.

  • Leland

WAY TOO MOWNTAINBIKE! Please don’t do it, or make it real cruising geometry as to dissuade the MTBers from leeching our shit more.

  • Anonymous

i have just one question; when are the 22″ regular frames coming out? I’m 6’4″ and don’t want a cruiser. I can’t help being a giant!

  • Anonymous

Whats the tyre clearance like – i’d wanna run a 2.5 in front and 2.3 out back?

  • hnrk

YES! finally someone taking cruisers more serious then a bar-bike. i really hope that this is a step towards a larger diversity and acceptance in the BIKE scene.

  • max

still not convinced about the bb height, definately should be around 13, but 13.75! – thats higher than most 26wheeled dirt jump bikes! Would of thought that on big, fast jumps it would feel really unstable/topheavy…
my ideal (theoretical) specs would be:
    21.75" & 22.25"tt,
    14.25" – 15"cs,
    13"bb,
    74.5h/a,
    71.5s/a

  • kingLouie

    love it!

What are the individual frame and fork weights?

The rear triangle looks a bit thin…

will the frame/fork come with a lifetime warranty?

please don’t make it out of cheese and ruin your wonderful rep.

13.75whaaaat – can’t wait to try that, from what ur say it sounds like you’ve found the keys to the magic cruiser kingdom.
Shorten those stays, lengthen that toptube and come on in…

  • Anonymous

yeah i wondered about the tyres also, currently running maxxis hookworms (2.5) on my rigid DMR transition, i'd wanna run a 2.35 motodigger up front & a KHE in the rear…
How come your not doing the wavy downtube?
When are the hazards set to come out & do you think you could persuade G-sport to do ribcage 24s and 24" G-spokes?
definately buy the frame if you do an XL size

  • Anonymous

PLEASE make it as a complete, with all those Odyssey parts on it. Though a GSport Ratchet would be nice, and Forumphs (I own 2 pair- best bars ever)… SWEET.

  • PIFF

    RATCHET HUB!?

  • Anonymous

    I’d prefer a custom build…
If a wanted a complete i’d just buy a fit or wtp one. Plus it’ll be more pricey to offer diff sizes of completes. The market already saturated with 21.5 budget cruisers, being something different sunday should try and cater to a wider variety of tastes

  • gary

these are great, was thinking of an tonic fallguy, but i’d much rather have something on the bmx side of the 24 fence, if it rides like you say i could see this converting alot of the mtb guys.quite suprised by the chain stay length tho – would of thought it should be sub 15.
In terms of size someone on bikeguide mentioned about having 0.5″ longer than what you’d ride on a 20, so put me down for a 21.75

  • Anonymous

    HI!
seems as though this bike is generating quite a bit of interest with taller riders, i'm 5.10 and ride a 24 cos i just don't feel comfortable on a twenty, currently riding a haggard dk general lee 24, which i think has a 21"tt and feels a bit on the cramped side – even with a xxl stem and chicago bars, would like to try a 21.25 or 21.5 or even a 21.75 so i could run a short stem and laidback bars.
Was gonna get one of those new fit ones but am tempted to save up & wait till next spring now

keep up the good work guys!

  • bobby

i guess my two cents are this. being a bmxer all my life led to a job at a bike shop. the job at the bike shop led to interests in other bicycles. but being a bmxer first and foremost, i will always try to support a bmx brand who has made a “non bmx bike.” i am 6’2 and have rode a few single speed mtbs. they are a blast on single track trails, there is no doubt about that. but if i had a 24″ bike to go jump around on i would want it to resemble a bmx bike before resembling a mtb. the ns capital that i saw a lot of guys saying they rode is a cool bike, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

i think you are making a bike that is awesome just the way it is. i would be bummed if you changed it. BMX!!!

  • kev

I secound that ^ but i don’t see how having a longer tt option and shorter stays makes it like a mountain bike – it still has the steep h/a, high bb, non-suss corrected forks and high bars of of a bmx.

From what I can see no-one has suggested a slacker head-angle, suspension forks or disc brakes.

Bikes like the NS capital have no real place or function in my opinion.
Their like cruisers in denial! That can’t throw off their oppressive evolution from mtbs and embrace their full metamorphosis into big BMXs!
To me this Sunday is like 24″ rehab!

Toptubes have been steadly getting longer and chainstays shorter on BMXes for the last 10yrs – surely cruisers should do likewise.

Also; I really think someone needs to come up with a better word than “cruiser” which I think is a part of the reason they’ve never been taken seriously by manufacturers or customers!

    Finally…

How come it doesn’t have the wave downtube, it is, after all; a “new wave” cruiser.

  • Anonymous

whats it like with the pegs, does it grind like a 20, have you lost any pop compared to the 20, like the idea of the extra room/higher bars and the feeling of being it rather than on the bike – if that makes sense of a 24 but i love grinding and hopping, not to mention dropping to flat…LIVE FAST LAND FLAT!
I would also like to see more companys make longer twenty inch frames i’d rather have more sizes than loads of ltd edition colours…
anyway good to see something new and really surprise to see how many people are open-minded and exited about it, – geo sounds pretty spot-on, looking forward to seeing the finished product

  • brian

Cheers Jim, I now feel like a kid waiting for XMAS, gonna be a long winter. Plenty of time to dream up the perfect build!
love the olive colour, not so keen on the silver and in an ideal world i’d have a 22.5tt – i know, not very “freestyle” but i’m old, tall and ride trails and don’t tell anyone but i have been known to do the odd bit of “cruising”…!

  • alan

just wanted to echo all the previous comments really, super stoked on this bike, hope it comes as a frame/fork combo and in at least 3 sizes, being pedominately a trails and park rider who likes going fast & high i'd err on the side on a longer tt
    good work!

  • Anonymous

    SHORTER CHAINSTAYS PLEEEEAAAASSSE!!!
you've done the high bb – now finish the job GODAMNIT!

sorry for the outburst – shocking!

other than that & wanting a longer tt (22 at least) – LOVE IT!

  • joe

Seat tube looks quite long. wouldn’t a lower s/t, more sloped tt help with whips and bails and look more new school (wave…?)
What happened to the wave by the way?!
Have you guys seen the new KHE cruiser (pygmy) looks nice with the sloped frame (hideously long stays though – 15.9″ – W.T.F). Same with the eastern traildigger 24 (not full 4130 though, why bother?, and again 15″ plus stays – too long) – check em out though – they look more freestyle, less cruiserish

  • Anonymous

    FUNDAYYY!!!

realy what takes sooo long.any longer and im going to have to buy another frame becuse i need one now realy bad!
    sunday!<3

  • Anonymous

would really like to see a long 20 frame from sunday, like macneil deuce deuce – it’s got that market sown up at the moment – any word on the model-d, was hoping the cruiser was gonna be longer, might of considered the bigger wheels…

  • nathan hanlon

why just make a fixie like everyone else not some cruzer shit

  • theo

also thought the seat-tube looks kinda big for a cruiser with freestyle aspirations!
though i guess the higher bb might have something to do with that
def give it 14″ stays theres currently no cruisers with sub 15″ stays
whats the tyre clearance like on the fork cos i’d wanna run a phat tyre up front – at least 2.35
should def give a brakeless option – again theres no brakeless 24 frames about
really lovin the support this is gettin – hopefully alot of people will realise the potential of cruisers as a good halfway house between bmxes and mtbs
really hope you offer more than 1size cos yet again theres very little variety in terms of length with cruisers, when you think about all the sizes than all the diff 20 frames come in it makes sense – if i’m gonna ride bigger wheels i def want more room up front
    i’d also buy a sunday fixie…

  • Anonymous

    Frame & Fork weights?
    Wave downtube?
    22inch toptube?
    14.5inch chainstays?
    Hazard-Lite24 release?
    Odyssey 24 tyres? 2.35" Aitkens?
    Lifetime Warranty?

  • Anonymous

    Just say YES!

  • Anonymous

How does it hop compared to a 20, i'd really like to move up to 24s, but every big wheeled bike i've tryed knocked about a foot off my bunnyhop, & considering i pretty much live for hops – thats kind of a big deal!
I'm thinking it may have been a low bb thing – so hopefully the model c is better…let me know, cos as i say i'm really into the big wheels
p.s. would of thought the shorter stays peeps are suggesting would help on this front
put me down 4 longer tt also

  • Anonymous

p.s. are you gonna give 'em the chain tensioners like ur other frames? I hope so
Oh yeah & whats happened to the famous sunday wave?, really helps ur frames stand out….

  • 22"sohotridenow! – 20"sohotridenow’s big bro!

    22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"22"

    nuff said.

I love Sunday, Sundae, Sun-days & Sundays. Stop forcing me to give my money to Macneil!

Also 10" triumphs – so the big bar market up like a m*therf*cka!
    You cannae foooock wit Sunday

  • MunicH

lets hear some news on the model D and the funday, thats what we need.

  • bitter 24er!

^ No – what we need is someone to make decent modern cruiser frames, forks and rims.

Whats sooo special about the model d and funday – yet more 20" frames – great! One in bright colours and one trails frame, whoopdeedoo – more choice.
If you ride 20 you have your every whim & fancy catered for by one company or another and as a dedicated 24wheeled rider i'm soooooo f*cking jealous!!!

What we NEED is for someone to step up to the plate and take 24" wheels seriously
Thank you Jim,Sunday & Odyssey for taking a risk and doing this, I for one will definately be buying one (in a larger size…fingers crossed…)

  • Anonymous

excellent, just what i’ve been waiting for, really hope u go ahead with it
    echo
    shorter back
    echo
    longer front
    echo
    wave?
    echo
whatever, i’ll buy one cos i love sunday and i fancy a 24

  • Anonymous

do odyssey make 24″ rims ?

  • Anonymous

what is the chance of us seeing a 22inch bmx bike? bmx has had 20inch wheels for what 3 decades and the people riding them now are giants compared to when bmx started. i think someone made a mistake in jumping from 20inch all the way 24inch. 24′s just look goofy. for those who are over 6ft and love to blast it would combine the benefits of higher top speed than 20′s with greater manueverabilty than 24′s. 360 turndowns would look normal. you would need a frame, fork, rim and tire. 20inch inner tubes would probably work untill the idea caught on. im sure alot of the cruiser crowd would prefer a bike that gave them more room than 20ins but still looked proportional

  • Anonymous

I can see how making a 22inch wheel based bmx bike is a financial risk but if a company were to innovate a middle selection between 20inch and 24inch, sunday/odyssey is the only one who could pull it off.
