Jim Cielencki Bike Check

Ride BMX has my bike check up on their website.  Jeff Z took a bunch of good photos while we were on the Sunday Swine Flu tour after Interbike.  There isn’t too much new on the bike besides running a pivotal seat and post for the first time.  The frame is an experimental Funday with traditional dropouts and only heat-treating on the Wave downtube.  Not sure what will happen with this frame, but we just wanted to test out a lower priced frame and see how it would hold up.

i want a pair of the jcpc pedals! where can i get them? or are they still prototype?

  • Bruno

mmm, i don’t reallly like the idea of a cheaper frame, i just love the quality of the full heat treated sunday, i think a cheaper frame would be going down one step. JUST MY OPINION… y love Sunday’s bullet proof quality!

  • TOM L

    Not a good Idea
Full on heat treating is the way to stay.
Keep the stuff high quality like you guys are known for.

by studying marketing i do understand why Sunday! may have decided to do this…for the business side of things.
i can see the younger generation of riders buying this frame if it can hold up. especially if JimC is repping one.
maybe sponsor some flow to rep them?

    i love my Wave frame!

Don’t you guys worry, heat treating, hollow dropouts and wave tubing aren’t going anywhere. You will be able to find a Sunday frame with those features on it. However some times there’s people that have other needs. We can only do the lower price stuff because we have the high end stuff to back it up. Simple.

  • TOM L

    Well
I will keep buying the high end stuff
I will be done building My second wave in a day or two.
    Now I have 2 full custom Sunday’s
Hope Jim will put it up here

yeah i was kinda of bummed that sunday was going into the complete bike business, i guess thats where the money is. unforntunatly i think the brand gets cheapened by the completes. sunday still badass though!

  • Fritz

Man, i dont think FitBike.co lost any badass rep when they went into completes, neither did FBM.

  • pierre

what! dont make the funday look shitty, frist the complete bikes now this. I have the original funday and i dont wont little posers if thats this or that, make a new model called the cookamundo or something, dont rash on fundays!!

  • tyler

oh and who care if they make complete bikes.. as long as the frames they make are still up to par everything will work out.. jim is just trying to make money with his bike company just like i am and every other bike rider that wants to start a company, i say we all just take our brakes off and go ride street…
