What is the standover height of the Ian Schwartz frame?
Does it have the usual 8mm hollow dropouts?
I wish you guys would make a frame with a smaller standover height…
hippopotamoose
*by “does it have the usual 8mm dropouts” i meant the forecaster
Christian
Hey guys, this is a sick frame but whats the differnce between the forcaster and the 2nd wave?
Chris
look at the pictures mate, it has the smae dropouts as the model D, 5mm.
8.211″ standover, All the info is on the Sunday site man have a look 1st ask questions after
John
I’m pretty disappointed. It should have the 8mm dropouts, not regular ones. Implying a HT steeper by 0.5 degrees makes front wheel tricks a crapload easier and that a slightly shorter rear end makes spins and whips easier is not the type of marketing I’d expect from Sunday…
The Funday better remain as it is. I’m liking the geo of the Forecaster but the dropouts just ruin it.
alex
they need to come out with better colors!
http://sundaybikes.com jimc
Chris-Thanks!
Alex- There will be more colors throughout the year. The colors you see are basically limited edition.
John-Well we didn’t invent the geo and all you hear about is how 75 degree headtubes are for front wheel tricks. Jake Seeley put his together and immediately went over the bars trying a nose wheelie because of how much easier it was to get the back end up. It’s pretty much a fact that backends have gotten shorter for improved manuals, spins and whips. Yeah, we are always straight forward with our marketing and those are the reasons why this frame was made.

I would’ve been all over it if there was a 21.5 version…T_T…sick frame anyway!
Funny how some people are moaning about the non-hollow dropouts. The majority of the other companies use plain gauge dropouts, and nobody is complaining…I guess we’re getting used to Sunday constantly raising the bar!
I read that the Forecaster was expected to be a little bit cheaper than the the 3rd Wave and the Funday.
John
I’m doubting that half a degree will make that much of a difference. If you can’t nose manual a 74.5 degree frame, a 75 degree one won’t help. I didn’t notice it when I ran a different frame…
http://sundaybikes.com jimc
Haha! Well, I’m not really saying you will be able to do mile long nose wheelies on this bike, but I am saying that you will be able to get the back end up easier due to the steeper headtube. You would never think a half degree makes a difference, but according to the team it does.
John
Placebo effect perhaps? Feed them sugar pills and tell them it’ll get their hops a foot higher, then we’ll know for sure. Haha
S.Brothers
Doppler radar graphic? GTFO… that is the illest. Sunday is on that next shit. Forecaster indeed.
kms
hahaha this guy is a trip. JOHN, you do know not everyone likes sundays geo and this frame will draw in some that may have wanted the funday before but didnt get one because of the 74.5ht. thanks jim.
John
I never said there was anything wrong with offering it, just the way it was blatantly said that it’d make everything a lot easier.
http://sundaybikes.com jimc
John, I don’t believe I said it will make it a lot easier. I said it would make it easier. There’s a reason why flatland bikes have steep headtubes and that would be to make front wheel tricks easier. It’s the same philosophy here just on a non-flatland bike. We didn’t invent the geometry, so we are doing nothing out of the ordinary.
kms
some people it does make it easier for. but as some have stated that they don’t like the low bb but thats what fit frames are for. maybe jim should make a 3rd wave with a 75 degree ht and call it the everyday.
Gingernut
is this frame 41thermal like the other frames
http://sundaybikes.com jimc
Yep, this frame is 41 Thermal! No other frame company uses it.

Hi Jim,
I’m running a 21.25TT Sunday 1st wave and it’s been brilliant over the last 3 years.
I’m very interested in the 3rd wave. Will these come out in TT sizes greater than 21 inch later?
Also, will there be some frames made that do not have removable brake mounts? I much prefer having my brake lugs welded to the frame.
Well done on a awesome company, team and innovative ideas. The only parts I run are Sunday/Odyssey, I just don’t trust anything else.
Thanks Jim.
Doug
Whats the price gonna be on this?
Bob
Ya I really want some prices on these cuz I want one of the new frames real bad.
Colin
Jim, will there be a fire red forecaster soon?
Charles blood
Hey Jim, why no internal chain tensioners?
Does it have the 8mm hollow dropouts?
How much will they be?
CHASE
what colors is it coming out in later?? im hoping for ocean blue
Bryn
I def want one of these if my 2nd wave craps out or i sell it. And I too second the idea for an Ocean Blue Forecaster, that or Neon Yellow would look nice.

They should make more chrome bikes. I’m putting together a new bike for next year and I got a stock pile of fire engine red that would look sick with a chrome frame and other polished parts!
Mahdi
