Sneak Peek: Conductor

12/14/2010

Introducing the new Sunday Conductor frame.  It’s look is simple and classic with geometry specifically suited for stability at higher speeds.  The stability comes from the longer top tube lengths combined with it’s 14″-14.75″ chainstay length.  It has a normal, not so twitchy headtube angle that remains responsive.  The chainstay brake mounts continue the classic look.  It’s drivetrain fits up to a 36 tooth sprocket and is specifically designed for larger gear ratios.  Sunday frames have always had a stiffer feel due to the Director style wishbone and the non-sandwiched seat tube junction which improves lateral stiffness. While the gusset and the minimal spacing between the toptube and downtube at the headtube improves vertical stiffness. Whether it’s a set of doubles at the trails or a bowl corner at a concrete skatepark, the Conductor is ready for it all.  Look for it to be available in early 2011!

    this looks damn strong!

    What is the standover height?

    • http://Website BobbyP

The stand over height is measured from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube on our frames. By that measuring standard the Conductor is an 8.5″ stand over height. That is 1/4″ higher than the Forecaster and the same as the Wave 3 and Funday 2 frames.

looks fuckin sick .,.. wish it had the 8mm dropouts tho :(

What type of headset, campy or intergrated? Please reply…

    • Bobbyp

It is a 45/45 Campy spec headset.

Bad bad bad call on welded seat stay mounts. Their are very few companies that make big drivers. I could say 95% of bmx hubs sold today are only in 9T.

People have a lot of mixed feelings about chain stay brakes. I think now days people do run a 9th with a heavier gear up front. So it all works out. Not to mention you can put in a massive tire in the rear end. I personally run 28-9 ratio. and it works well with the frame.

i personally run 31/10 and not one of the 20+ local trail shredders i ride with runs smaller than 29. i guess we must make up the 5%

please lower the bottom bracket. Not all the way to 11.5 like other “trail” frames, but something in between. to me this would make it a sweet ride. 11.8 is high already, and when combined with larger tires, It really feels too high.

well, 28-9 is defiantly do-able especial for dirt, and that is this frames intended use. Are they lo-profile mounts like Fly?

11.8 bb with the long chain-stay zero each other out it’d be a fun ride. Comparable to the Fit lurch or S&M stricker and they’re fun frames.

if i can run 28/9 and brakes at the same time, i will be 1 happy camper when this frame comes out

Why are you running brakemounts on the chain stay? seems like a bad idea to me, really limits your gearing

    damn, soooooooooooooooo hype

Agree the 11.8 bb is too high. But for the sizes this frame comes in 21 and 21.25 it should be fine. Why did you drop 20.75? And why not integrated chain tensioners ?

i was gunna sway from sunday and get T-1 barcode, but this might be the frame i’ll be getting next. geometry is spot on.. well bb should be 11.75. but i can deal with .05 difference. 21.25 and a long back end? i’m stoked.

Tom Arkus said “you can put in a massive tire in the rear end”. How massive? Does it have clearance for a 2.3 tire? Also, what is the weight?

i was going for a t-1 barcode, but the 14″ rear end swayed it. just ordered a conductor. simple solid and well made. what more could you want in a frame. not worried about the chainstays as i run 31t, 10t gearing
