Jim Cielencki’s Wave-C

4/21/2011

We’ve never had an offical bike check on the site of my Wave-C that I’ve been riding since last October, so I’ll show it now.  The bike is all Black Magic with this one except for the red spokes.  Originally it had a black stem, but I’ve been testing an Odyssey stem prototype which only is in high polish.  The Wave-C has a shorter backend which allows for better manuals and bunnyhopping.  We still offer it in the 21.25″ size, but now we have an even larger size of 22″.  The bar height was increased using a topload stem and our new 7.75″ high 24umph XL bars.  This bike has been so much fun!  Frame and fork available now with the bars arriving sometime around the beginning of June.

How do a 24 inch bike run 20 inch path tires?

  • http://Website Ian

Jim, are you still running with a 21.25 tt?
Also, why the higher bars and top load?
Could you have gone with normal stem plus say an 8.5″ ruse bar?

    • http://sundaybikes.com jimc

Yeah I still run the 21.25″. I like the look of the topload stem. I wasnt’ sure about going super high although I could’ve achieved the same height by not having the spacers and using taller bars. I thought I might be going too high with the bigger bars. Feeling things out.

heey jim. loving the bike, but why do u not have the ratchet switched lhd if u run pegs right?

    • http://sundaybikes.com jimc

I’ve always ran my sprocket on this side and switching it over would elminiate some grind tricks that I like to do.

    do you grind

Got a black magic (Non-wave) Model-C about a year ago and never rode my 20″ after that happy day. Still got everything on the bigger bike. Whips, 3′s etc. And turndowns feel alot better on it.

Was this frame 100% Cr-mo? It was not the pro package.
Looking forward to getting a Wave-C!!

    24 LOVE.
