Funday PRO testing!

11.24.09

On Saturday, I went down to Austin to check out some of the Sunday complete samples that had arrived at the office.  The day went smoothly, but then everyone wanted to go to Ramp Ranch to ride.  Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my bike due to it being a short trip.  Well, since I’m really excited about the new bikes especially the Funday PRO, I decided to just ride that bike at the skatepark.  I’ll be honest and say that I felt shaky at first, due to it having different bars than I’m use to, plus, the small 13.25 inch rear end was something I had never ridden before.  But after a ninja drop, everything started to work for me.  Nothing crazy went down, but we did get the clip above.  Check out the other one after the jump.  Not bad for a $655 bike!  Look for Sunday completes available at the end of February!

    beau
  • No Model-C vids?

    goride09
  • too, bad the pro only comes in that color scheme, or id jump all over it. sure the reds fine, but the yellow rims @__@ i’ll pass

    Dosu
  • is that jim cielenck or Aaron Ross?
    looks nicei

    Adar
  • at interbike the funday am had a standard headtube and on here in the product section its integrated…wich one is the final?

    nico
  • All the completes have the integrated headset.

    jimc
  • That was Jim Cielencki. Aaron rode it for a little bit but I didn’t have any other bike to ride just the PRO.

    jimc
  • So is the Funday PRO basically an Aaron Ross signature Funday with 41 Thermal processing and everything, then built up for the comlpete line? I’m just trying to clarify. Sick bike either way.

    Adam C
  • The PRO is not the aftermarket 41Thermal frame. It’s not possible to make a complete with that frame for $655. It would be amazing if we could.

    jimc
  • so basicly this is just like a knock off of aarons complete bike?

    SHANE M
  • Not really, it does look and ride just like Aaron’s personal bike, but it costs less. Any complete bike you buy today will be a “knock off” of what all the pros bikes look like.

    jimc
  • yeah i get what your saying.but still thatd be sweet if was 650 haha, for the rims on aarons bike is like 650 lol…ps are you the real jimc? haha

    SHANE M
  • hey omm sick bike cant wait for 2010 feb because im todaly buyin the pro or ex… o and stupid qustion but did aaron ross get a new bike … yhe neon yellow onw or what ever . i mite buy a sunday funday custom in ocean blue off of dans comp.

    dale
  • how heavy is the FUNDAY PRO beacuseal my bike hhave bin in the 30’s so im geting pissed my recncnet bike is 32 pounds ahha it realy bad.

    SHANE R
  • Can’t decide if I wanna save $$$ and get the Pro or wait a lot longer and hope I can save enough to build a custom. Wish I had the $$$ right now so I could have gotten a discount ordering before Christmas on Dan’s :( ! It would have knocked almost $200 off!!!!!!! Also if I had the $$ I could get a Sunday frame that is now on sale…………… The completes are cool though! Wondering what the 2011 line will be like though hehe!!!!!!! ALSO THE WEIGHT of the pro :P ?!?

    CaperG
  • The weight of the PRO is about 25 lbs and should be available in February. The frame on the complete is NOT the same as the aftermarket frame hence the name aftermarket frame.

    jimc
  • the msrp is 655?
or is that the factory price

    noah
  • i was gonna build my own with the flourescent yellow frame and orange shadow conspiracy parts, but was gonna cost about $1100. im deffinetly waiting for this instead!

    Dylan D
  • i was wondering where these are going to be sold at. Im also wondering what parts do you think i could take off and put some lighter parts on. THANKS!

    thomas
  • so whats the prices for all of the funday completes?sweet bikes would defanatly love to by one with christmas money lol

    WILLBERTO
  • If you want to lighten a bike start with wheels, It saves rotating weight so it feels like you took off 4lbs when really it was 1.5.

    Jake
  • how much does funday pro weigh EXACTLY. is it worth buying? Ihave a mongoose brawler 2009 is the funday pro better?

    BMX4LIFE
  • If i were you i’d recomend buying a nice bike and then add on parts later idk if id buy a sunday complete because they have always been know for their frames abd i think that even though these bikes look sweet itd be better if you bought your own bike and then customized it later on yea it will cost a little more but u will still have all the parts and it will b way lighter in the long run plus you get to know what your comfortable with and still be ab;e to buy parts instead of spending $655 on a Sunday look in to a Stolen or a Fit Stolen come with oddysey parts as well and are way cheaper and later on you can customize them if you want but if not you wouldnt have spend extra money for a bright color bike all in all buy a bike that you know your going to like cuz if you dont its a waste of money

    Ryan
  • amazing bike hands down

    andrew
  • Ryan-Actually the Odyssey parts package is worth over $700 if you were to buy all the pieces separately. So you’re getting a great deal that you can actually go out and ride right away. There’s no having to ride a lesser quality bike while you piece the bike together. Plus no other company offers this many Odyssey parts at once on their bikes. This is an amazing bike.

    jimc
  • i agree with jimc. but i was wondering if anybody knows if these are the final colors for the funday pro because me and my freind where looking into buying these. also does anybody know what the final wait of the funday pro and the ex will be?plus are the forks and bars like just some weird offbrand cause ii wanted to know. what bike stores or online shops will sell these abd when in febuary will they come out?

    thomas
  • Thomas: they’re the final colors… the final weight should be around 22-23 pounds without tubes/air in them for the PRO.. and i think most shops will have them. they come out at the end of feb,

    Nick
  • hey jim, way to talk about yourself in the 3rd person… that made me laugh a little…
