Garrett Reeves new Third Wave!

02.18.10

Garrett Reeves came by the office to build up a new Black Magic Third Wave frame.  If you don’t know Garrett, you will definitely know him soon enough.  Some interesting things on his bike are the super tall bars and the fact that he runs a 14 inch rear end to prevent looping out.  His bike is super tough, while only weighing in at a mere 23lbs.  Look for new Sunday frames including the Third Wave, Watermelon Funday and a mystery frame available around the first week of April.

Watch Garrett ride in his most recent edit:  Sunday X Lotek

Lee Dennis’ Third Wave!

01.14.10

Lee Dennis is making a brief escape from the Niagara Falls, Canada winter this week by coming down to Austin to hang out at the new office. While he was out working on an Austin web video, we took the time to shoot some bike check photos.  He’s currently riding a 20.75″ Third Wave prototype which has the Wave top tube to help increase the front end strength.  If you remember Lee’s past web video then expect some good things from this one.  Lee is also waiting on the release of FU3 which is set to come out in the next month!  I’ve been lucky to see it and you won’t be disappointed!

Steven Savage Interview!

11.12.09

One of the best things about having a bike company is being able to help out riders that might never get the opportunity.  South Africa’s, Stephen Savage is a perfect example of this.  He’s an amazing rider with a style that isn’t learnable, it just is with him.  Sunday has been lucky enough to be able to help him out over the past few years.  He took this opportunity to do this 1 part interview with us about riding and South Africa.  Photos by Eric Palmer.  Check out his website/blog HERE!

Tom Arkus Weekend!

10.26.09

Tom Arkus spent a fun weekend at Ray’s MTB in Cleveland over the weekend.  The weather turned up to be really good so he was able to hit up some trails too! If you haven’t been to Ray’s this year then you’ll need to go soon!  The new jump room is a lot of fun and the transfer lines are unique and amazing!  All the trail photos are shot by Jason Willis and all the indoor Ray’s shots are by Lukas Satas. read more!

Model C Flatland Pics

10.21.09

This is awesome!  Check out Dan Sirkin doing some flatland moves on his Model F….I mean Model C!  Hitchhickers, wheelchairs, steamrollers and is that a forward Rope-e-roni?  When he sent me the previous photos of his bike, he said he probably won’t do any flatland on it.  But there’s no way to resist trying out all the tricks you know on this bike.  He said “Just about anything is possible.  It definitely spins a bit slow because of the big wheels but it holds straight lines and wide circles very well.”  Now if we can just get someone to decade out of a wallride.  Sounds like a webvideo contest to me!

Wave Toptube Update!

10.16.09

Eric Lichtenberger had a bike check of his Third Wave prototype a few days ago, but we didn’t get to show you close ups of the Wave on the toptube.  The photos aren’t the best, but you will notice a bunch of scratches and dings, but no major dents.  The idea behind the Wave toptube is the same as the one for the downtube.  Each small Wave is stronger and stiffer than a non-waved tube, it’s easier to dent a larger tube then a smaller one.  We’ve been doing the Wave downtube since 2007 and it’s been proven countless times.  If you dent either one then you significantly decrease the strength of the front end.  The Wave toptube will only be offered on next spring’s Third Wave frame.  Look for more photos of the Wave downtube including the cable channel on the underside next week! read more!
