Garrett Reeves came by the office to build up a new Black Magic Third Wave frame. If you don’t know Garrett, you will definitely know him soon enough. Some interesting things on his bike are the super tall bars and the fact that he runs a 14 inch rear end to prevent looping out. His bike is super tough, while only weighing in at a mere 23lbs. Look for new Sunday frames including the Third Wave, Watermelon Funday and a mystery frame available around the first week of April.

Australia is the first country to get the Sunday completes in the world! Here’s a photo of them coming off the truck at BMX International. They arrived a day or so ago and are quickly flying off store floors! There’s been great response to all the bikes especially the Funday PRO! Can’t wait to here people’s thoughts on the Model C complete. We are really happy with how all the bikes have come out! Don’t worry they will be arriving in other parts of the world really soon!

One of the biggest adventures of my life began in the Spring of 2005. I started Sunday Bikes and we quickly became known for establishing new standards in frame design. Now, in 2010, my next big adventure is about to begin. I’m starting Full Factory, a new distribution company, that will become the sole distributor for Sunday Bikes in the USA. In addition to Sunday, Full Factory will also be the sole US distributor for Carlo Griggs’ UK-based brand, Proper Bikes.
Lee Dennis is making a brief escape from the Niagara Falls, Canada winter this week by coming down to Austin to hang out at the new office. While he was out working on an Austin web video, we took the time to shoot some bike check photos. He’s currently riding a 20.75″ Third Wave prototype which has the Wave top tube to help increase the front end strength. If you remember Lee’s past web video then expect some good things from this one. Lee is also waiting on the release of FU3 which is set to come out in the next month! I’ve been lucky to see it and you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve been visiting the factories we use in Taiwan for a few days now and the trip has been good. Here’s a spy shot of the Wave downtube and headtube from our complete bike frames. We checked out the factory and it looked amazing. Even got to see the complete Model C frames being welded up. Also, we visited the aftermarket frame factory which is working on the new Wave 3, Funday 2 and some potential other ideas. I’ll write up a more detailed story when I get back into the USA. Going to leave you with one note, I realized on this trip that all hollow dropouts are not equal. Just because it’s hollow doesn’t mean it’s the same as a Sunday hollow dropout.

UPDATE: 2nd Waves are all gone!!!
On Saturday, I went down to Austin to check out some of the Sunday complete samples that had arrived at the office. The day went smoothly, but then everyone wanted to go to Ramp Ranch to ride. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my bike due to it being a short trip. Well, since I’m really excited about the new bikes especially the Funday PRO, I decided to just ride that bike at the skatepark. I’ll be honest and say that I felt shaky at first, due to it having different bars than I’m use to, plus, the small 13.25 inch rear end was something I had never ridden before. But after a ninja drop, everything started to work for me. Nothing crazy went down, but we did get the clip above. Check out the other one after the jump. Not bad for a $655 bike! If you were one of the few to get a fluorescent yellow Funday frame then consider yourself lucky. Although it won’t be the same frame, look for a fluorescent yellow Funday complete coming early this spring!
