Sunday is making it’s way down under starting Feb 24th!  Aaron Ross, Gary Young, Alex Magallan, Jake Seeley, Tom Arkus and Jim Cielencki will be driving on the left side of the road for 12 days visiting shops, riding street and seeing some amazing skateparks all while avoiding kangaroo punches, boomerangs and great whites.  The tour will take us from Melbourne to Brisbane and back down to the US vs Them contest in Melbourne.  Shops and dates to be announced soon!  Stop by and see us!

Here’s the last and final segment of our Swine Flu Tour videos!

On Saturday, I went down to Austin to check out some of the Sunday complete samples that had arrived at the office.  The day went smoothly, but then everyone wanted to go to Ramp Ranch to ride.  Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my bike due to it being a short trip.  Well, since I’m really excited about the new bikes especially the Funday PRO, I decided to just ride that bike at the skatepark.  I’ll be honest and say that I felt shaky at first, due to it having different bars than I’m use to, plus, the small 13.25 inch rear end was something I had never ridden before.  But after a ninja drop, everything started to work for me.  Nothing crazy went down, but we did get the clip above.  Check out the other one after the jump.  Not bad for a $655 bike!  Look for Sunday completes available at the end of February!

Interbike this year was a lot of fun and so was the Sunday Swine Flu Trip we went on right after the show.  The trip took us from Las Vegas up to Salt Lake City and back.  Look for Jake Seeley, Alex Magallan, Eric Lichtenberger, Tom Arkus, Mike Gonzalez, Francis Delapena, Jeff Z and Jim C in this first installment of the series of 3 with the others coming in the next week or so.  All the sections combined will play like the format of a normal video with this first section being the opening.  After they’re all posted you’ll be able to download it all as one video.  Filmed by Tom Arkus and Francis Delapena with editing by Tom Arkus. I’m not sure if anyone of us found any glory on Ride UK’s Ride to Glory trip, but check out Aaron Ross, Joe Cox and Jim Cielencki on Odyssey’s section of the trip.  The trip was a lot of fun, the van was terrible, the weather cooperated most of the time, Road Chef wasn’t amazing, Rom Skatepark was amazing though, Liverpool wasn’t so sketchy, Aaron is addicted to IPhone games and we came in 4th out of 5.  Trip was fun, but next time we need a working GPS and a van that shifts gears properly!

Last week, I was out putting the Wave downtube to the test and came up with this mini crankslide video shot at the Brampton, Ontario skatepark.  There’s a few other random tricks in there including Lee Dennis‘ guest clip.  Andy Maholsic filmed and edited this one.  Enjoy!

Here are two more photos of my Model C with green and gold colorway in action!  The barspin between the van and the U-Haul isn’t that crazy, but 180ing between the two is much different.  The photo of me holding the bike up to show how little room there was lost, but I’d say it was about an inch on either side.  You can sort of tell from the photo that there wasn’t much room.  Thanks to Zak Taylor for shooting these two photos.  Look for more Model C stuff coming soon!

Here’s a photo of me barspinning the local jersey barrier in Buffalo aboard the Sunday Plus 4 Model C that I’ve been riding since last fall.  The photo was shot by Zak Taylor when Jake Seeley and the Garden team was here filming awhile back.  I’m trying to make some Sunday Wallpapers so you might see this photo along with some from the rest of the Sunday team.

Here is the Fluorange Funday I just built up to try out some new dimensions.  I’ve been riding the my 24″ Model C for 2 months now and it was time to change it up and ride a 20 for a little while.  I put together the Funday because of its 13.5 rear end length and the 11.5 inch bottom bracket height.  The idea is that the lower bb will keep the bike stable and not too loopy while still allowing it to tailwhip and spin better.  I grew up riding long rear end frames so having something this short is foreign to me.  Hopefully the lower bb will counter act the short rear end.  If not then its back to the Second Wave.  I’ll update you over the next few weeks.  Here’s my parts list below.

The end of May is a great time to be in Buffalo, this pool in the photo is mostly drained and is totally ridable!  You can pretty much go as fast as you want and carve the whole main wall.  You are able to air it and pocket air the corners along with so much other stuff.  Don’t fall because it might as well be covered with sandpaper.  In the photo, I’m hopping over the diving board thing and into the vert.  Right after we shot this photo, the cops booted us out.  I’ll be back next May!

Check out this Warm Red Sunday Second Wave kit I built up recently.  It has 20.75 inch tube top length and the back wheel is run at 14 inches to provide me with a little extra comfort for bunnyhops and manuals.  I use Morning 2.1 forks and put Forumph bars on because the 4 degrees of upsweep feels better to me.  Click on the photo to see the full view and a bunch of closeups!  What do you think of the tires?  I’m way into them!

Ride BMX, March 09 Issue

Vital did a BMX Gear Guide video about the features of Aaron Ross’s Funday frame.  I did all the speaking because Aaron is off in Thailand filming for a Props trip article there.  He’s fighting the heat, dehydration and a severe lack of sleep.  Did anyone see Aaron on the Blackout trip in the latest Props?  Super good!

This the view from Jiminy Peak near Jake Seeley’s hometown.  On Tuesday, I went out there to go snowboarding with him.  Check out more pics and see what else he is up to after the jump!

So I got up at 4:30am to drive out to Jiminy Peak to meet up with Jake.  The drive took about 5 hours and there was only one wrong turn taken.  Luckily, my IPhone was there to save me and satellite radio was kicking to keep me awake and interested.  I picked him up at his house and we proceed over to Jiminy by 10:30 and rode for a few hours before I had to head back to Rochester for a meeting. It was really fun hanging out without bikes or anyone else from the team around.  Just doing something way different than we’d normally be doing.  Its always bike this and bike that, so it was refreshing to hang out in a different context.  I guess Jake was getting hooked up with Rome Snowboards before he messed up his knee 4 years back.  I could tell he was good right away just from his board control alone.  We had fun, nothing serious going down just cruising and riding the cliff bank formations.

The reason why I headed out to snowboard with Jake for such a short time is that he is moving to Austin Texas for 2 months to ride and escape the winter.  His plane was leaving on Wednesday morning at 6am, so I had very little opportunity remaining to go ride with him.  These are the photos he shot while making his way to Austin.  Cloudy and cold on the left and sunny with blue skies on the right!  You can probably guess where he’s at in each photo.  The pool spot is really close to where he is staying so look out for some footage and pics of him riding there.

On an even cooler note, I’ve been a fan of Jake’s for a long time and for 2009 I’ve decided to put him up on the main pro team.  So next time you see him congratulate him!  I’m stoked for 2009!
